GlowCore Dealer Enters the Comfort Zone
Paul Boulanger of Champion Plumbing & Heating runs his
business out of his 4,800 square foot home and adjacent buildings situated in picturesque
Portsmouth, New Hampshire. When his aging warm-air, fuel-oil-fired furnace began to
overstay its welcome, Paul decided to add a natural gas line and do away with the messy,
smell, space-consuming disadvantages of fuel-oil once and for all.
And, being the good GlowCore dealer that he is, he didn't need to
look any further for a suitable gas replacement tan his own top line - GlowCore.
"I had a warm-air system," says Paul, "but I
wanted zoning. So I switched the whole thing over to gas hydronic heat, tied in with
UniCore Jr. This integrated system gives me the best of both worlds: zoned hydronic
heat and warm air with air conditioning . . . even domestic hot water."
Utilizing a high-efficiency GB090 boiler, Paul zoned his heating
requirements for a hot tub, baseboard radiation, and domestic hot water.
Interconnected with a UniCore Jr. system equipped with a condenser, he picked up warm-air
heating and cooling throughout the living spaces.
"For me," Paul says," the real issue was
comfort. I was able to utilize one integrated system to do everything I wanted to
do. And by eliminating the oil tank and ductwork, I was able to add a training
classroom in the basement."
