Multi-Use Boiler in Maine

Today's newer homes incorporate many technological advances in whole house comfort which can put diverse demands on a heating system.  These demands can be particularly challenging when the home is built in a community out of the ready of natural gas.  Electric heat can be too costly to operate.  Fuel-oil can be environmentally unfit, in addition to being messy and smelly.
Such were the challenges when the Sowerby family in the Maine coastal community of York built their new home.  They overcame these challenges, however, by using one GB160 GlowCore LPG-fired boiler with a 40-gallon water tank for a UniCore integrated system heating both space and domestic hot water.
Installed by GlowCore dealer Paul Boulanger, the system encompasses many heating needs: multi-zone baseboard radiation throughout the house; radiant floor heat in two separate areas; and all domestic water needs, including a large hot-tub facility.
Though whole-house comfort is important, the real benefit, as mentioned earlier, comes from utilizing liquid propane gas in this high-efficiency system rather than electricity, due to its high operating costs, or fuel-oil, due to its maintenance headaches.
